To everyone who joined us on the course yesterday at The Carter Nedley Golf Classic or who supported the event by sponsoring a hole, by donating a raffle prize, or by purchasing raffle tickets:


We worked extremely hard to plan the outing, and your generosity made it our most successful event yet.

If you missed it: Our winning foursome was Mike Fowler, Bryce Goodman, Mason Goodman, and Dave Zimmer.  Each member of the team received a trophy and a $20 bonus certificate from Golf Galaxy.

Dave Zimmer also won our Longest Drive trophy. The trophy for Longest Putt was awarded to Josh Carter. (Jim Sorenson deserves special recognition here, also, for finishing second in both categories.)

3) A date for the 2011 Carter Nedley Golf Classic will be announced shortly.

Can’t Attend The Carter Nedley Golf Classic, But Still Want to Help?

We’ve heard from many of you who want to participate in The Carter Nedley Golf Classic, but are unable to attend the event.

We’re proud to announce that you now have such an opportunity.

From now until midnight on Friday, September 24, tickets for the raffle at The Carter Nedley Golf Classic will be made available for purchase in advance.

You could win two (2) tickets to an Ohio State football home game, memorabilia autographed by the Indians’ Shin-Soo Choo or the Cavs’ Mo Williams, a ninety-minute swing evaluation from golfTEC, a cornhole set from King Toss, restaurant and retail gift cards, and much more!

For more information, go to The Carter Nedley Golf Classic page at and scroll down to the “RAFFLE PACKAGES” section. Tickets can be purchased directly from Lisa, Jason, and from select volunteers.

Players at the outing will be provided with two (2) tickets each, and individuals who purchase the dinner-only option will be provided one.

Additional tickets will be available for purchase by attendees during the event, also, until the end of dinner. Drawings to award all raffle packages will be held immediately after dinner, and winners who are not present will be contacted no later than Monday, September 27.

The Carter Nedley Golf Classic: Final Registration Deadline Sunday, September 19

Just a quick note of thanks to everyone who took advantage of the early-registration deadline for The Carter Nedley Golf Classic.  We’re just under three weeks away from the outing, and already your response has guaranteed the event will be a tremendous success!

A reminder, too, that the final registration deadline is Sunday, September 19.  If you’re planning to join us but have not yet registered, please go to The Carter Nedley Golf Classic page to do so.

The Carter Nedley Golf Classic has been scheduled for noon on Saturday, September 25 at Black Brook Golf Course in Mentor, Ohio. Each player receives eighteen holes of golf with a cart, two drink tickets, a clubhouse lunch, a catered steak or chicken dinner, and a gift. Players also receive a ticket for the raffle, and are eligible to purchase additional tickets. Our incredible (and still-growing) array of prizes includes

* gift certificates to area eateries like Cabana’s Island Restaurant, Chester’s Legacy Tavern, Corks Wine Bar, Flannery’s Pub, and Pickle Bill’s Lobster House;

* tickets to Northfield Park, the Lake County Captains, Hilarities 4th Street Theatre, the Lake Erie Monsters, and the Cleveland Gladiators;

* a $50 gift certificate to Dick’s Sporting Goods;

* a one-month family membership to the Mentor Heisley Racquet and Fitness Club;

* a spa package from Ladies & Gentlemen Salon and Spa (includes haircuts for him and her and various bath products)

* a ninety-minute swing evaluation at golfTEC;

* a complete cornhole game set from King Toss;

* a baseball autographed by the Cleveland IndiansShin-Soo Choo;

* a Cleveland Cavaliers jersey autographed by Mo Williams;

* two tickets to the Ohio State-Purdue game on Saturday, October 23 (includes a parking pass)!

* and more!

Registrations can be purchased individually for $100 or for groups of two ($200), three ($300) or four ($400).

We also have added a dinner-only option for those who would like to join us but do not wish to golf. The dinner-only option, which includes the same catered steak or chicken dinner, one drink ticket, and eligibility to purchase raffle tickets, is $30.

All event proceeds benefit The Carter Nedley Foundation, which serves children in Northeast Ohio affected by cancer, along with their families, and raises funds for research into treatments for pediatric cancer.

Registration is fast and easy. Simply go to The Carter Nedley Golf Classic page and scroll to the bottom, where you’ll see a drop-down box under the heading “PACKAGES.” Registration packages for one to four players or the dinner-only option for one or two individuals then can be selected from the drop-down box. After you’ve selected your registration package, simply click the yellow “Buy Now” button and you’ll be transferred to a secure session on PayPal, where you can make your payment easily with any major credit card.
