The 2nd Annual Carter Nedley Golf Classic

September 25th, 2011 by jnedley

To everyone who participated in the second annual Carter Nedley Golf Classic, whether by joining us on the beautiful course at Black Brook, by joining us for dinner, by sponsoring a hole, by donating a prize, or by volunteering their time:

We worked very hard to make The Carter Nedley Golf Classic a quality event, one that we hope you’ll continue to support in the years to come.

Thanks, also, to all members of our local media who helped to promote the event and to spread word of our mission and our achievements.

Our winning foursome — and repeat champions of The Carter Nedley Golf Classic — were Mason Goodman, Bryce Goodman, Dave Zimmer, and Zack Koinis.  Each member of the team received a trophy, a $20 bonus certificate to Golf Galaxy, and a free round of golf from Black Brook.  They edged the foursome of Jason Ice, Jared Klaus, Jake Roelen and Jim Sorenson, who finished just two strokes back, thanks to a two-stroke boost for winning “The Marsh-Mulligan.”

Mark Burdecki was our Longest Drive champion this year, and Jared Klaus our Longest Putt champion.  Mark and Jared each received a trophy and a $20 bonus certificate to Golf Galaxy.

Bryce Goodman also won “The Putt-Off,” placing his ball just 10 3/4″ from the hole.  He received $50 gift cards from Golf Galaxy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Arrabiata’s Italian Restaurant.  Laura Navarro finished a close second, at 11 1/2″.  She received a $250 automobile-detailing package from Jeff’s Garage.

Each player received a $10 bonus certificate from Golf Galaxy, a three-pack of golf balls, and a stainless steel Carter Nedley Foundation travel mug.

We plan to announce a date and location soon for the third annual Carter Nedley Golf Classic.  We hope that we can count on your support again next year.
