Mother’s Day Breakfast

May 11th, 2010 by jnedley

It was a big weekend for The Carter Nedley Foundation. Saturday we climbed out of bed early to join more than 500 people for a walk around University Circle which raised more than $45,000 forĀ CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation.

We got up even earlier on Sunday. Lucky for us this time, not nearly as much exercise was required. It was Mother’s Day, after all, and we had deliveries to make.

We brought three dozen bagels, cream cheese, and coffee from Panera Bread to the families of the pediatric oncology unit at The Cleveland Clinic. We also brought Panera’s baked-egg souffles for the nurses and staff. Lisa made a small box of chocolate truffles for each of the moms, and we left a box full of small toys and games for the kids.

Our thanks to the Panera Bread at Points East Plaza in Mentor for their most kind donation of the bagels, cream cheese, baked-egg souffles, and coffee. And our best wishes to all mothers of children fighting illness. Your love keeps your child strong, and truly inspires us all.
